Tell us something about yourself:
I was born and raised in West Virginia (that's a state, not the western part of Virginia). I served 5 years as a Military Policeman with the US Army, I have one older brother. I live in Florida now and like the warmer weather. I love playing guitar and singing in my church choir, I like playing golf and reading, and chess. My wife is an angel and puts up with me. I have two grown children and it was my daughter who goaded me to start what would eventually become Survivor's Affair. I also have a day job.

Where do you get your ideas for your books?
Everywhere. It could come to me from something I read in the paper or simply by thinking, 'what if Logan did this or that'. It can be an idea that just hits you out of the blue or just a hint of an idea and I spend days or even weeks thinking about it, nurturing it until it develops into something. Other times it doesn't develop and you forget about it.

Where can I get your books?
My books are available at any online book retailer, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords. They are also availble in Ebook form for the Kindle, Nook, and your computer. They are also available through my publisher directly from their website http://prose-press.com/

I've just written a novel. Can I get you to give me an opinion?
Sorry, no. I simply do not have the time, although I would love to help if I could.

I've decided I want to write a book but have ever tried. Any advice?
Find some good books on writing and study them. Stephen King's On Writing is very good. The book that got me started was The Complete Guide to Writing Fiction by Barnaby Conrad. Also, write what you like to read. Chances are you'll be more interested in that and it will show in your prose.
Lastly, read and lot and write a lot.

Why do you write what you write?
I've always loved the private detective novels and the thrillers and the novels that feature martial arts. John Logan combines all three and is the kind of book genre that I like to read. You write what you like and what you're familiar with. I touch on this in one of my blogs.

When did you decide to become a writer?
I've been writing since I was a kid but it was always a hobby with me until a few years ago when I thought about seriously studying the craft and really trying to become a better writer. John Logan was in my head at the time and wouldn't leave me alone. Thank goodness he didn't.

How long should it take me to write a novel?
As long as it takes. There are no set time limits. Survivor's Affair took me 10 years from initial concept to publication. Margaret Mitchell also took 10 years to write Gone with the Wind and got a ton of rejections afterward before it saw a bookshelf. On the other hand, mystery writer John Creasey supposedly wrote a novel in 3 days.

Will Logan and Teri ever get married?
To be honest, I have no idea. Their relationship right now seems to be working for the moment and if for some reason in the future, I feel the need to get them married, then it will happen.
What about Teri and Killian? Any chance of killing them off in some future book?
Are you kidding me? If I ever do, someone else will have to tell them. I' m not doing it. Teri slammed the door in my face when she wanted an action scene and I hesitated in responding. And Killian....well you can imagine.
